Air France-KLM Canada Vice-President and General Manager Bénédicte Duval and her entire team joined clients, partners and suppliers for a cocktail dinner at L'Astral to mark 60 years to the day the first ever Montréal-Paris flight took place.
One of the evening's highlights was the retrospective fashion show of Air France flight crew uniforms, modelled by Air France Canada employees. French songs from each respective period provided the soundtrack to the attires designed by the likes of Georgette de Trèze, Georgette Rénal, Nina Ricci, Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Carven and Louis Féraud. The show was an opportunity to appreciate Air France 's contribution to elegance.
Bénédicte Duval declared: “In 60 years, we grew from 30 passengers a week to over 1,300 a day during peak season. As the airline evolved, changes invariably ensued. Nevertheless, and my 12 predecessors would undeniably agree, one constant always stayed the course: the passion the Air France Canada teams have demonstrated for their profession and their airline.”
For his part, Aéroports de Montréal Vice President of Real Estate and Commercial Services Jean Teasdale congratulated Air France on their anniversary, and seized the opportunity to underscore that the airline is Montréal-Trudeau's largest foreign carrier.
Magic eventually filled the room, both figuratively and literally, as magician Luc Langevin performed.
The cocktail dinner wrapped up with an exciting draw of two Affaires business class tickets for the special anniversary A380 flight to Paris departing 48 hours later from Montréal-Trudeau. The manager of the prestigious Paris hotel Le Bristol, Jean-Louis Souman, also added 3 nights accommodations to the prize.
A similar event was held earlier in the day for the employees of Air France, KLM and the Delta sales team. Also in attendance were retired employees of Air France .
